His leadership and generosity have been inspirational to artists and administrators alike over his more than 20 years of extraordinary service.
During his time as the chairman of the company’s board of directors, he left a lasting mark on its artistic landscape and the city of Los Angeles as a whole—and he continues to do so. Now serving as honorary chairman, Marc’s invaluable guidance remains a steadfast fixture of LA Opera. Along with his wife, Eva, the two continue to solidify the company’s future, championing ambitious projects and bringing many of the world’s most influential artists to our stage.

These efforts were most recently evident during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At a time of worldwide uncertainty, Marc’s unwavering support and key leadership guided the company through this most challenging time, enabling the company to return to the stage with renewed vigor and strength.
As we approach the end of the 2021/22 season, we want to celebrate an outstanding individual who makes producing opera in Los Angeles possible. On May 5, 2022, we’re hosting an evening of unforgettable music, performance and dining (and champagne, of course) to thank Marc for his two decades of exceptional service to this company and the worldwide art form.
